4TH BOARDWALK MILE OPEN WATER SWIM
Join the Seashore Striders for a classic open water ocean swim along one of the most popular boardwalks in the United States. The 4th Boardwalk Mile Open Water Ocean Swim is back and will be held on Sunday, August 30th at 8 am.
Race Details
The start will be from either Queen St. or Grenoble depending on the current and will be announced closer to the event. The make-up date in case of rough surf or dangerous weather will be Sunday, Sept 6th, 2026 at 8 am.
Race Location: Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Start will be at Queen St (South) or Grenoble St (North) depending on the current. Check-in will be at the start, advertised 12 hrs before by email and on the website www.seashorestriders.com.
Race Time: 8:00 am
Registration
Early Bird Registration: $50.00 through Sunday, August 16th at midnight.
Race Week Registration: $60.00 through Saturday, August 29th at midnight.
Race Day Registration: $70.00 from 6:30 am - 7:30 am on August 30th.

Please mail by Monday of Race Week to be guaranteed an event t-shirt/swag.
Packet Pickup & Bag Drop
Packet pickup will be at Grenoble. Swimmers will either start at Grenoble or walk to the start at Queen St. A bag drop service will be available for a $5 charge to transport belongings (shirt, sweats, shoes, etc.) to the finish.
Beneficiary
The 4th annual Tommy "TC" Coveleski Scholarship - A $500 scholarship to be given annually to a RPB Guard for educational purposes.

Wetsuits
Wetsuits are allowed unless the ocean temperature goes above 76.1 degrees (USA Swim Guidelines). Water temperature has averaged 72 degrees in August.
Race Timing
Timing will be done by the Seashore Strider Event Production team using the Chronotrack Tri Tag Chip system.
Race Amenities
Finish line produced by Seashore Strider Event Production, Inc., post-race awards ceremony, custom swag, custom awards, and post-race refreshments on the beach.
Awards
Awards will be presented to Overall Male & Female Champions, Overall Male & Female Masters (40+ yrs.), and the top three (3) Male & Female finishers in age categories: 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 & 70+.
Age Guidelines
Participants in the 10-13 age group must swim with a responsible adult/coach. Participants under 10 are not allowed.
Event Verification
Previous ocean swim race, triathlon, or pool swim participation may be required for verification. The Race Director reserves the right to reject any entry.
Refunds/Deferral
No Refund policy. Options include: Transfer to a future Seashore Strider event, donate entry fee to charity, or defer to the following year.
