29. Int. Bad Essener Abendlauf 2026
Join us for the 29th International Bad Essener Abendlauf on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Kirchplatz Bad Essen, Lindenstraße. After achieving our second-best result with nearly 800 participants last year, we aim to be excellent hosts again in 2026. We invite you to be part of our beautiful town square event.
A familiar atmosphere is created when sports-enthusiastic runners and spectators on the course and in the town square contribute. We expect guests from our partner city Bolbec (France), who have participated in our evening run for years.
A sporty and interesting change awaits our guests in the relay race. With a new course, close to the start and finish, and only two change points, and distances of 6 x 400m, the race course has a completely new character. All participants can benefit from greater attention from spectators on their course. The shorter distance also encourages more children, youth, and adults with average running ability to participate, as it is easier to manage with 400m per section.
For all students up to 12 years old (born 2014), a separate relay race with 4 participants per 400m (total 1,600m) will be offered if there are enough participants.
A drinks and sausage stand (with fries) will be available for all guests on the town square. In high temperatures, drinks will also be offered on the course for refreshment. Start numbers will be issued on the town square.

- Students and youth up to 18 years: 3,00 EUR
- Relay (6 x 400m): 10,00 EUR
- Relay (4 students x 400m): 8,00 EUR
- Late registration fee (on event day): 2,00 EUR
The Bambini run is free of charge and does not require registration.
Registration:
- Online registration: Available on www.laufen-os until July 1, 2026, 5:30 PM. Start fee is paid in cash on-site.
- Late registration: Possible up to 30 minutes before the start on the event day with a 2€ fee.
- Start number pickup: On the event day at the town square, up to 30 minutes before the start.
Courses:
- Bambinilauf (up to 6 years): 500 m, free, 18:00 Uhr
- Schülerlauf (7-12 years): 1.5 km, 3.00 EUR, 18:30 Uhr
- Staffellauf (6 x 400m): 2.400 m, 10.00 EUR, 19:30 Uhr
- Staffellauf 4 Schülerinnen und Schüler (up to 12 years): 1.600 m, 8.00 EUR, 19:30 Uhr
- Jedermannlauf: 3.3 km, 3.00 EUR (born 2008 and younger) / 6.00 EUR (born 2007 and older), 20:00 Uhr
- Volkslauf (10 km): 10 km, 3.00 EUR (born 2008 and younger) / 6.00 EUR (born 2007 and older), 20:30 Uhr
