25th Annual Black Canyon Triathlon
The Montrose Recreation Foundation proudly presents the 25th Annual Black Canyon Triathlon, a well-supported sprint distance triathlon, on Saturday, September 26, 2026. This event attracts about 200 athletes and their families annually to Montrose and is now a USAT certified race, requiring a membership for participation. Fees have been adjusted to help absorb some of the membership cost. The triathlon features individual youth and adult divisions, as well as adult and youth teams (2-3 members), and a family team division (must include an adult over 18). Ages range from 6 to 70.
Proceeds from this event directly benefit the community of Montrose, serving as the primary fundraising mechanism for the Montrose Recreation Foundation (501 c-3). Funds are used to promote and expand recreational opportunities, including activity scholarships for qualifying families, youth, and older adults, and donations to community groups that volunteer.
