2026 Chessie Trail Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, & 26.2 Relay

This event features a variety of running races along the scenic Chessie Nature Trail, known for its smooth, flat, gravel and grass surface. The trail parallels the Maury River and is a former Chesapeake and Ohio rail line.
Race Details:
- Marathon: 26.2 miles, Boston Qualifier. Runners complete the trail twice.
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles.
- 10K: 10 kilometers.
- 5K: 5 kilometers. Walkers are welcome.
- Marathon Relay: 26.2 miles, divided into four legs.
- Virtual Options: Available for Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K.
- Student Pricing: Discounted rates available with valid student ID for most events.

- Packet Pickup: Friday, November 6, 2026 (10 a.m. - 7 p.m.) at Walkabout Outfitters, Lexington, VA, or on race day morning (6:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.) near the start line.
- Race Day: Saturday, November 7, 2026. Start times vary by event, with most starting at 8:00 a.m. EST.
- Course Surface: Smooth gravel and grass.
- Amenities: Custom medals for all finishers, t-shirts, post-race food, aid stations, and free parking.
- Refunds/Transfers: No refunds. Transfers or deferrals possible until October 31, 2026.
- USATF Certified: All race courses are USATF certified.
